Quality recovery is as important as the workout itself. During intense sport, hard physical work or busy periods around competitions, the body can use up fluids, electrolytes and key nutrients more quickly. This is often felt as: slower regeneration, severe muscle soreness, a drop in tone and difficulty returning to normal.

In medical center „Reflex“, the infusion therapy for sports recovery is medical approach - individually tailored support that can help you recover faster and better.

When do we recommend infusion therapy for recovery?

Infusion therapy may be appropriate when:

  • You train intensively several times a week
  • Performing heavy physical work or exertion „day after day“
  • Your recovery is noticeably slower than usual
  • You have severe muscle soreness, a drop in strength, tone or a feeling of fatigue
  • You have an upcoming competition or period with a heavier workload and want medically sound support.

What does infusion therapy involve?

  • Fluids and electrolytes - to restore water-electrolyte balance
  • Amino acids - to aid muscle recovery
  • Vitamins and trace elements involved in energy metabolism
  • Antioxidants - support in oxidative stress after exercise

The goal is to aid recovery and overall tone so that the body is more ready for the next training day/cycle.

How does the procedure work?

  1. Medical consultation with a doctor
We discuss: type of sport/load, frequency of workouts, goals (endurance, strength, competition prep), sleep and nutrition regimen, and general health.

  2. Laboratory tests
To select the most appropriate therapy safely and purposefully.

  3. Preparing a treatment plan
One-time supportive infusion or course (series) - based on the needs and goals.

  4. The infusion itself
An abocat is inserted, the infusion takes place in a discreet and comfortable environment, with monitoring during the procedure.

  5. Follow-up & monitoring
Recommendations for regimen, recovery, and possible schedule during periods of high workload.

  • Consultation with a specialist as needed - sports doctor, cardiologist or orthopedist for specific complaints/injuries.

Frequently Asked Question

Can I come in for an infusion directly after a workout?
In most cases - yes, but it is good to clarify with the doctor. Sometimes it is more appropriate to do on a recovery day or between two training days.
Will it improve my sports performance?
Infusion is not a performance improvement approach. It promotes quality recovery, and thus better tone and body readiness for the upcoming exertions.
Is there a risk of „doping“?
No. It's not doping and it's not aimed at unnaturally enhancing athletic ability, it's aimed at supporting recovery. If you are an athlete with specific anti-doping rules, discuss the details with your doctor.
