What aesthetic procedure should we choose – Botox, fillers, mesotherapy, boosters, threads?

Botox, fillers, mesotherapy, boosters, threads???

If listing these options out confuses you – that's normal. Aesthetic medicine is developing rapidly and for someone who is not in the field, it all sounds like just a set of words.

A large majority of patients share the following during the first consultation:

"I want to look better, but I'm afraid of looking fake."

This article is just for you – someone who wants to look better, but also maintain their unique identity.

We'll go through the three most important choices:

  1. Clinic/location
  2. Doctor
  3. Specific procedure

1. How to choose the right place?

First, an important distinction:

Aesthetics is a part of medicine, which means that all aesthetic procedures should be performed only in an accredited medical institution, not in a cosmetic studio, and only by specialists with higher medical and additional education in aesthetic medicine, because all procedures performed with a needle, cannula, or device carry risks.

Therefore, the question of who to trust is the most important!

2. How to find your specialist?

  • On the recommendation of close people
  • By searching for information about accredited medical centers
  • Is the doctor you chose experienced enough?
  • Are they permanently working at this center/clinic?
  • Is there a possibility for tracking, check-ups, and emergency response?
  • Avoid aggressive advertisements such as "total change in 20 minutes" or "complete transformation with one procedure."
  • Look carefully at the portfolio - the "before/after" photos give an idea, but they are not everything.
    • whether the photos are natural or have been processed with filters/Photoshop
    • Do people look natural or do they all have the same nose, lips, and cheekbones?
    • Are there different age groups – not just 20–30 years old?
    • Whether the results resemble what you like.
  • The way the doctor speaks – during the first consultation, pay attention to whether:
    • Listens to you or only talks about what he wants to do
    • Does he explain things to you in an understandable way or does he just bombard you with terms?
    • Whether it mentions risks and limitations or only benefits

If you don't trust them and don't feel calm and secure, it's better to look for another specialist.

3. How do you know which procedure is right for you?

Usually this issue is resolved during the first consultation with your aesthetic doctor!!!

A good first consultation usually includes:

  • Medical history
    • Do you have any chronic diseases?
    • Are you taking any medications, anticoagulants, supplements?
    • Do you have allergies, autoimmune diseases, or a tendency to keloids?
  • Talking about your expectations
    • What do you like about your appearance and what don't you like? What bothers you when you see yourself – tired, with sagging features, fine wrinkles, lack of volume, etc?
    • What do you want to achieve – “a fresher look”, “a face lift”, “a calmer forehead”, etc.?
  • Facial analysis
    • symmetry
    • structure
    • volume
    • mimicry
    • the quality of the skin.
  • Plan proposal
    • Initial steps (most often milder and reversible)
    • Possible subsequent procedures over time
    • What is realistic to achieve and what is not.

It's better to start small – a little Botox, a little filler, a little mesotherapy – and build on it, rather than making a big change in one day.

The important thing is that the doctor offers you a correction plan that you can stick to!!!

How we approach it at medical center "Reflex"?

At Reflex Medical Center, we view aesthetic procedures as a natural extension of medical care, not as a stand-alone manipulation.

Our approach is:

  • We always start with a consultation and facial analysis.
  • We offer a plan that combines reasonable steps over time, not a "complete makeover" in one day.
  • We work mainly with minimally invasive methods - dermal fillers, biostimulators, botulinum toxin, mesotherapies, mesobusters, threadlifting with mesothreads.
  • Our goal is for you to look like a rested, fresher version of yourself, not like a different person.
